The Adult and Family Learning service in Barnsley is offering two courses for people who are considering a career as a school teaching assistant.

The courses offer a full, nationally recognised qualification, the CACHE level 2 certificate in supporting teaching and learning in schools.

They take place each Thursday at The Core, County Way, Barnsley, with morning (9am to 12.30pm) or afternoon (1pm to 4.30pm) classes available. Each course will last for one year.

Learners attend one session each week at The Core and carry out a placement for one day or two half-days a week in a school.

Course fee details can be supplied on request. If you dont have a full level 2 qualification or you are looking for work you may get the course fee substantially reduced. Other learners may pay in instalments.

Access is from junctions 36, 37 and 38 of the M1 with J37 just 1 mile from the Town Hall (S70 2TA).

We have frequent rail services to mainline stations at Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds. There are also five airports within one hour of the town centre, namely Manchester, Doncaster, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Nottingham East Midlands and Humberside.
