Key statistics

Parish precept for 2012/3 - £3,500
Population 298 voters

The parish council owns 10.5 acres of land in the Delf. This is a public open space. There is a playground, recently renovated with a Peoples Millions Grant; two small plots of grazing land that are leased out; possibly the countrys smallest village green the Millennium Green; a garden and pump house. The latter houses a well, or more accurately a water supply, that was constructed from the bottom up rather than the normal method of from the top down. The parish council also leases as a public open space the old Isle of Skye Quarry

A programme of environmental work is currently being carried out in the village, including work to provide a visitor centre and book repository in the telephone box, the restoration of Peck Pond and the Village Garden, and marking the village with stone posts. The work is funded by a grant from the East Peak Innovation Partnership, partly supported by the European Union. More information is available on the European Commission website.
