The Mayor of Barnsleys charities have received a welcome boost of £2,193 following a cheque presentation from Barnsley town centre club Escapade.

The money was raised thanks to sales of tickets for Barnsley Councils Cracking Christmas Party, which took place on Friday 16 December.

Some 731 staff bought tickets for the event, which saw a special appearance from The Risk.

The charities benefiting from the funds are Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, Barnsley Arthritis Care and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Access is from junctions 36, 37 and 38 of the M1 with J37 just 1 mile from the Town Hall (S70 2TA).

We have frequent rail services to mainline stations at Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds. There are also five airports within one hour of the town centre, namely Manchester, Doncaster, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Nottingham East Midlands and Humberside.
