Article: Young writers make history
Article Body
Barnsley born writer Hannah Rodgers is holding a fun and creative writing workshop for young people using Barnsley landmarks such as the markets and town hall as inspiration for a new book about Barnsley past and present.
Young writers can join the free two-day workshop held at Barnsley Central Library and get involved in making history. Everyone who participates will have the chance to be published in the book produced by Hannah.
The workshop takes place on Tuesday, 14 and Wednesday, 15 February at Barnsley Central Library, Shambles Street, 10am to 3pm, and lunch is included.
The creative workshop is for young writers aged between 11 and 16. There are only 15 places so book early to secure a place.
To book or for more details please email Jemma Conway Community Heritage Curator or call 01226 790270.
Experience Barnsley will be the first ever museum and archives centre devoted to Barnsleys history and will open across the ground floor of the Town Hall, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
