ASBO against Thurnscoe man

THIS IS AN ARCHIVED PRESS RELEASE AND IS DISPLAYED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY

Barnsley Council Community Safety Service in partnership with Berneslai Homes and South Yorkshire Police have been successful in securing an ASBO for a local man who lives in Brunswick Street, Thurnscoe.

Sean Danforth, 33, received the order at Barnsley Magistrates Court on Monday, 7 June 2010. It prevents him from entering on-licensed premises anywhere in the Barnsley borough including pubs, clubs, hotels (including beer gardens and car parks). The order goes onto prevent him from acting in an anti social or threatening manner and also prevents him from contacting witnesses.

The two year order comes after Danforth’s anti social and disruptive behaviour around the Dearne area and should provide some reassurance to local residents.

Residents are encouraged to ring the local SNT contact line on 01709 832138 or in an emergency phone South Yorkshire Police on 999 to report any anti social behaviour incidents in the Dearne, including breaches of ASBOs. To report any breaches of ASBO or Anti Social Behaviour for other areas of Barnsley, please contact 0114 2202020.
