The Licensing Section

The Licensing Section is based within Regulatory Services at Westgate Plaza One, and there is an additional Licensing reception at the New Civic Hall, Eldon Street. The reception at the Civic Hall is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

We are responsible for issuing a wide variety of licences and permits ensuring that the minimum standards of public safety and public protection are met.

We monitor and process applications and provide help and guidance on the kind of licence or permission you may need. Most applications involve the payment of an administration fee.

• will be responsible and accountable for the accuracy and quality of their work
• will treat all enquiries impartially with discretion and in confidence
• are given the highest quality training to deliver an excellent service to you

• to determine licence/permissions within three working days or within the statutory period as appropriate
• to respond to requests for advice and information within three working days
• to reply to correspondence within five working days
• return your telephone call on the same day or have someone tell you why the person dealing with your matter cannot and when the call will be returned
