"Health and Safety Law - What You Should Know".
Eligibility
All employers, employees and members of the public.
Procedure
Under the Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations 1989, every employer must display a poster or distribute a leaflet to employees setting out basic information on health and safety law.
Both poster and leaflet "Health & Safety Law - What you should know" are available from "HSE Books".
Employees must also be given the name and address of the enforcing authority for the workplace and the HSEs Employment Medical Advisory Service (EMAS). The poster has spaces to write in this information.
The poster also contains information on the competent person with responsibility for health and safety on the premises and the consultation arrangements for health and safety within the business.

services you require. Qualifications to watch out for are:- MIOSH, Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (Note: this is not a qualification but a level of membership).

A Any Stationary Office Bookshop should be able to order one for you if they do not have them in stock. Alternatively they can be obtained direct from HSE Books cost £7.50 inc. vat (see Distribution Points or Associated Links)
Q Do I have to display the poster?
A No, however you must provide your employees with the information it contains. In order for you to do this you
may alternatively supply them with the poster in leaflet form. The leaflets can be obtained from Stationary
Office Bookshops or direct from HSE Books in packs of 25 (see Distribution Points or Associated Links)
