Summary

To help people get the best out of Social Services transport can be provided to and from day centres.

Social Services has its own fleet of vehicles which are manned by Social Services staff. All these vehicles are wheelchair accessible and have the appropriate restraint equipment to ensure passenger safety. In addition Social Services contracts with a number of private transport providers and most vehicles are wheelchair accessible. All these providers have been checked to ensure that they have appropriate health and safety working practices.

Eligibility

All Social Services users have an assessment where we work out with you what services you need. If transport is part of your needs it will be written into your care plan and arrangements will be made for you to attend your centre.

Procedure

Clients are assessed by care management/clinical staff for daycare and their transport requirements. When you have agreed your needs with your care manager they will then make the necessary arrangements on your behalf.
