Description

Customer Complaints how to have your say
The Council recognises the importance of customer complaints and welcomes them as a valuable form of feedback about services as this helps to drive forward improvements.

Eligibility

If you have an issue that can not been resolved by your Care Manager you may request a copy of the compliments/ complaints leaflet which advises you how to make a complaint.

Procedure

Complaints staff are available to advise and assist with your complaint or comment between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. If staff are busy there is an answerphone on which you may leave your details and a member of the Complaints Team will call you back as soon as they become available.

How the customer can help

Please try to resolve any concerns you may have with the member of staff you normally deal with before making a formal complaint. When you make your complaint, please ensure that you say exactly what you want as a result.

Legislation

The way in which complaints about Social Care Services are dealt with are covered by legislation. For complaints about Adult Services, this is the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970 and the NHS and Community Care Act 1990. For complaints about Children's Services, this is the Children Act 1989 and the Adoption and Children Act 2002.
