Graffiti is unsightly and can be offensive. It is an anti-social activity that creates a negative impression of an area, and contributes to people's fear of crime. It puts people and businesses off moving into an area and can contribute to its decline.
We have dedicated members of our team who specialise in the removal of graffiti. If your property has been subject to this sort of vandalism, we can arrange for a team to call round and attempt to remove it.
Graffiti on commercial properties can also be dealt with by the department. Small jobs may be done free of charge. However, there will be a charge for larger jobs. Please contact our department for a quote.
Most graffiti is made by either a permanent marker pen or spray paint from a can. It is often easier to remove new graffiti before it has a chance to dry properly. Also, small areas of graffiti are often added to, so it's best to remove graffiti as quickly as possible.
Graffiti is removed using a mild solvent and a high-pressure hose. It is not possible for the department to treat graffiti on a painted surface, as the treatment process would cause further damage. It is recommended that graffiti on such surfaces be painted out.
We provide a graffiti removing service to all our citizens.
Graffiti on council owned properties will be removed free of charge. Private dwellings and commercial properties may incur a charge.
If you would like us to remove graffiti from Council or private property, please contact Neighbourhood Services Department. (Neighbourhood Pride) on (01226) 775656.
If there is to be a charge we will give you a quote.
Before work is carried out an indemnity form may have to be signed.
