Councillor Charlie Wraith

Biographical Information

Councillor Charlie Wraith represents the Cudworth Ward.  He was elected in May 2007, and his term of office expires in 2011.  He is a member of the Labour Group.

Councillor Wraith has served on the Council since 1974.  He was Mayor of Barnsley in 1997/1998.

The Ward Map displays the boundaries of all the electoral districts in the Barnsley borough.

The majority of Members hold regular informal ward meetings known as surgeries, details of which are updated on a weekly basis.

Council Membership (Including Outside Bodies)

Councillor Wraith is the Chair of General Licensing and Chair of Statutory Licensing Board and Vice-Chair of Standards Committee and he also sits on the following:  Health and Adult Services Scrutiny Commission, Housing and Community Safety Scrutiny Commission, Planning Regulatory Board and Appeals and Awards Regulatory Board.

Councillor Wraith sits in the Barnsley Magistrates’ Court Liquor Licensing Forum and Boulder Bridge Liaison Committee Outside Bodies.

Councillor Wraith is a Governor at Birkwood Primary School, Chair of Barnsley Licensing Forum, is a member of the Cudworth United Charities, Royston United Charities, Faith in the Communities, Parochial Church Council, Member at St. Paul's Church in Monk Bretton, Berneslai Homes Steering Group, Cudworth Cemeteries and Park Committee and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul's Church.
