Councillor Dorothy Higginbottom

 Biographical Information

Councillor Dorothy Higginbottom represents the North East Ward.  She was elected in May 2006 and her term of office expires in 2010.  She is a Member of the Labour Group.

Councillor Higginbottom has served on the Council since 2004.

The Ward Map displays the boundaries of all the electoral districts in the Barnsley borough.

The majority of Members hold regular informal ward meetings known as surgeries, details of which are updated on a weekly basis.

Council Membership (Including Outside Bodies)

Councillor Higginbottom is the Vice Chair of Planning Regulatory Board and she also sits on the following:  Environment Scrutiny Commission, Health and Adult Services Scrutiny Commission, Appeals and Awards Regulatory Board and Joint Employees’ Consultative Committee.

Councillor Higginbottom has also been appointed to the North East Bansley Environmental Trust outside body.
