Councillor Janice Hancock

Biographical Information

Councillor Janice Hancock represents the Dearne North Ward.  She was elected in May 2006 and her term of office expires in 2010.  She is a member of the Labour Group.

Councillor Hancock has served on the Council since 2004.

The Ward Map displays the boundaries of all the electoral districts in the Barnsley borough.

The majority of Members hold regular informal ward meetings known as surgeries, details of which are updated on a weekly basis.

Council Membership (Including Outside Bodies)

Councillor Hancock is the Chair of Health and Adult Services Scrutiny Commission and she also sits on the following:  Environment Scrutiny Commission, Planning Regulatory Board, Adult and Elderly Services Rota Visits Panel and Cross Cutting Scrutiny.

Councillor Hancock also sits on the Dearne and Dove Drainage Board, National Association of British Market Authorities and Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education outside bodies.

Councillor Hancock is a Governor of Dearne Goldthorpe Primary School.
