Councillor Joe Hayward

Biographical Information

Councillor Joe Hayward represents the Cudworth Ward.  He was elected in May 2006 and his term of office expires in 2010.  He is a Member of the Labour Group.

Councillor Hayward has served on the Council since 1999. 

Councillor Hayward was Mayor of Barnsley in 2005/06.

The Ward Map displays the boundaries of all the electoral districts in the Barnsley borough.

The majority of Members hold regular informal ward meetings known as surgeries, details of which are updated on a weekly basis.

Council Membership (Including Outside Bodies)

Councillor Hayward is the Chair of Audit Committee and he also sits on the following:  Children’s Services Scrutiny Commission, Environment Scrutiny Commission, Appeals and Awards Regulatory Board, General Licensing Regulatory Board and Statutory Licensing Regulatory Board.

Councillor Hayward has also been appointed to the following outside bodies:  Barnsley and District Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Barnsley Community Build, Berneslai Homes Board, Boulder Bridge Liaison Committee, Local Government Yorkshire and Humber Employers’ Committee, National Association of British Market Authorities, Priory Campus Board of Trustees, Priory Family Centre Project Group, Prisoner of War Fund Trustees, Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Yorkshire and Humberside Voluntary Action Barnsley and South Yorkshire Magistrates Courts Committee Local Authority Liaison Forum.

Councillor Hayward is a Governor of Cudworth Churchfield School Governing Body.
