Councillor John Wilson

Biographical Information

Councillor John Wilson represents the Penistone East Ward.  He was elected in May 2006, his term of office will expire in 2010.  He is a member of the Conservative Group.

The Ward Map displays the boundaries of all the electoral districts in the Barnsley borough.

The majority of Members hold regular informal ward meetings known as surgeries, details of which are updated on a weekly basis.

Council Membership (Including Outside Bodies)

Councillor Wilson is the Vice Chair of General Licensing Regulatory Board and the Statutory Licensing Board.  He also sits on the Environment Scrutiny Commission.

Councillor Wilson sits on the following Outside Bodies:  Barnsley Magistrates’ Court Liquor Licensing Forum, Rockingham Community Association, Stainborough Park Management Liaison Committee and the Trans Pennine Trail Members Steering Group.
