Councillor Ron Fisher

Biographical Information

Councillor Ron Fisher represents the Darfield Ward.  He was elected in May 2008 and his term of office expires in 2012.  He is the Leader of the Barnsley Independent Group.

Councillor Fisher has served on the Council since 2000.

Councillor Fisher was Mayor of Barnsley in 1990/1991.

The Ward Map displays the boundaries of all the electoral districts in the Barnsley borough.

The majority of Members hold regular informal ward meetings known as surgeries, details of which are updated on a weekly basis.

Council Membership (Including Outside Bodies)

Councillor Fisher sits on the Housing and Community Safety Scrutiny Commission, Statutory Licensing Regulatory Board and the Cross Cutting Scrutiny Commission.

Councillor Fisher also sits on the Maurice Dobson Charity, LGA – General Assembly and the Darfield Old Persons’ Management Organisation outside body.

Councillor Fisher is a Governor at Darfield Valley Primary School and The Foulstone School.
