The Council has clearly stated priorities:-
(a) Improve educational attainment through partnership.
(b) Create more jobs through partnership.
(c) Improve organisational effectiveness and performance management.
(d) Build on existing partnerships to develop the Community Governance role.
(e) Seek more resources for the Borough.
The agenda was developed to an outline established by Council Members through a wide ranging process of presentation, discussion and debate with national politicians, civil servants, leading academics, key figures in other statutory and voluntary agencies, business leaders, educationalists and researchers. Partnerships have been developed which extend beyond the Borough and are sub-regional, regional and even national. To deliver the agenda, the Council is developing New Ways of Working .
