Planning Board

The role of the Planning Board is to determine planning applications (development control) within policies set by the Council and also to determine building control applications (building control) within policies set by the Council

The Board consists of 22 Members - one per ward (adjusted if appropriate), including Opposition Members, Chairman and Vice Chairman. Cabinet Members are excluded (Cabinet Support Members are eligible for membership).

Meetings are held on a monthly basis and are held in public, with provision for private sessions (with explanation), where necessary.  Meetings are programmed on a regular cycle.

Provision for speeches by, or on behalf of, interested members of the public on planning matters with a recognisable community impact (limited to one speech in favour and one against). Notification of speeches to be made in advance, subject to separate detailed reports.
