BARNSLEY Metropolitan Band will be bringing the sound of Christmas to Barnsley’s Central Library, Shambles Street, on Saturday, 19 December from 10am until 12 noon, when a brass quartet from the band will be playing Christmas carols on the ground floor of the library.
They will also be paying return visits during the week leading up to Christmas.
Why not drop in and choose your seasonal reading material with a musical background?
You can also browse through the library’s collection of festive films and CDs, stop off for coffee and a mince pie in the Full Stop Cafe, or just come along and listen to the band.
Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Customer and Neighbourhood Services, said “The weeks leading up to Christmas are a stressful and busy time for most of us. Barnsley Libraries are pleased to offer this opportunity for people to get into the festive spirit!”
