EVER wanted to be a writer but lacking inspiration? Visit Barnsley Central Library, Shambles Street, during the weeks leading up to Christmas, where pieces of festive poetry and prose from members of local Writers’ Groups are on display.
Headlined by a Christmas tongue twister, written by Barnsley Bard Ian McMillan, these writings range from reminiscences of childhood Christmases to humorous anecdotes.
Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Customer and Neighbourhood Services, said “These writings prove that Barnsley has a wealth of literary talent and hopefully may encourage others to take up their pen in 2010!”
