SEDUCTIVE, monumental and mysterious are just a few of the words used to describe one of the artist’s works set to be included in Reflections in Glass – a new exhibition at Cooper Gallery, Barnsley.
This stunning, high quality exhibition of contemporary glass is on display until Thursday, 24 December at the gallery on Church Street.
Pieces by Fiaz Elson, a highly regarded glass sculptor, are currently said to be ‘high on the must-have list’ for collectors of studio glass.
Also included in the exhibition are delicate bowl designs from artists Stephen Gillies and Kate Jones, whose work is drawn from their rural surroundings of the North Yorkshire Moors; hand-made, original works by Helen Slater; thought-provoking, neon installation pieces by Wakefield-based artist Richard Wheater, whose designs earned him a nomination for the Northern Art Prize 2009 and a feature in last year’s Glass Biennale; as well as the delicate engravings which North Yorkshire-born Tom Palmer has grafted onto glass.
The gallery is especially pleased to display the works of Blair Cunningham, a Glasgow based artist, who has produced a new glass piece for Cannon Hall Museum’s newly decorated art galleries.
In addition to all the works for sale at this beautiful exhibition, a wide range of jewellery, ceramics and gifts will be also be available for purchase at reasonable prices.
