Stickers delivered for Christmas waste collection

Barnsley Council has recently completed delivery of information stickers for waste and recycling collections for the next 12 months, including changes at Christmas.

Only collections on Friday 25, Saturday 26 December 2009 and Friday, 1 January 2010 will be affected and residents should refer to their individual collection stickers for details of alternative collections for these days.

The green bin collection will be replaced by an additional grey bin collection at Christmas and residents should refer to their individual collection stickers for details of this collection.

Residents whose glass, cans and paper recycling collections will fall on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day are asked to save their recycling until their next scheduled collection, when all recycling put out for collection will be collected. All other recycling collections are not affected and residents are asked to put this out as normal throughout Christmas and the new year.

Residents who have not received collection stickers should ring Waste Management on Barnsley 772045 to obtain these.

Any surplus waste can be taken to household waste recycling sites at Smithies, Worsbrough, Penistone and Goldthorpe which are open from 9.30am to 4.30pm throughout the holiday period except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
