AS February is National Heart Month, Barnsley Central Library is offering free blood pressure checks, as well as advice on how to quit smoking, on the Wednesday mornings of 3 and 24 February.
Both health trainers and Stop Smoking advisors will be on hand at the library between 10am and 1pm on these days. The campaign aims to raise awareness of two of the leading contributors to heart disease - high blood pressure and smoking.
Cabinet Spokesperson for Customer and Neighbourhood Services, Cllr Roy Miller, said: “Barnsley Libraries are delighted to be supporting this worthwhile campaign and urge local people to take up this free check.”
So, if you’re concerned about the health of your heart, why not drop into the library at Shambles Street and get yourself checked out?
