Free dog-chipping day taking place
A DOG micro-chipping event will be taking place on Tuesday, 15 July in the car park of the Dearne Enterprise Centre, Barnburgh Lane, Goldthorpe, from 10am to 2pm.
The chipping will be available to all Barnsley residents’ dogs. Micro-chipping makes it easier for Barnsley Council and owners to trace their pet if they become lost. The procedure takes just a few minutes and will be carried out as the owner waits. While dog owners must by law ensure their animal wears an address disc when out in public, micro-chipping is an added safeguard and cannot easily be removed if the dog strays or is stolen.
In the event of bad weather the event may be cancelled. Please call Regulatory Services on 01226 772468 before attending if you have any doubts. This should also be used if you require further information.
