HOYLAND Common Children’s Centre will be officially opened by Mick Clapham MP on Friday, 11 July at 2pm.
Staff from Barnsley Council’s Children, Young People and Families department, including Executive Director Edna Sutton, will have a tour of the new facilities and be treated to a performance by Hoyland Common Primary school choir.
The centre will provide a number of services for children and their families. Sessional care will be provided for children aged two to five years in mornings and afternoons, a before and after school fun club is on offer for children aged between three and 14 years and there is also a holiday club.
There are also facilities for adults including a strengthening families programme, a mothers and toddlers group, computer club, benefits and housing advice and sessions with a midwife and health visitor.
