PEOPLE are urged to show off their pieces of Barnsley history at events taking place during the next week.
Experience Barnsley, the project which hopes to put museum galleries, an archives centre and more in the Town Hall, is looking to photograph any documents, objects or memories relating to life in in the borough through the centuries, right up to recent times.
They are encouraging anyone with anything which might be of interest to bring it forward to be looked at.
The group will be at Barnsley Interchange on Saturday between 10am and 2pm, and the former Specsavers at 21 Cheapside on Wednesday, 30 and Thursday, 31 July, 9am to 6pm.
Alternatively, ring Barnsley Museums Service on 01226 790270, email experiencebarnsley@barnsley.gov.uk or see the Experience Barnsley Facebook page.
If plans go ahead, Experience Barnsley will see exciting museum galleries, a new archives centre and other facilities incorporated into the Town Hall. The Heritage Lottery Fund has earmarked £2.6m for the project which is hoped to be secured by the end of the year.
