Poster competition winners congratulated by Barnsley Mayor and Mayoress

YORKSHIRE in Bloom poster competition winners were congratulated on their success by the Mayor and Mayoress of Barnsley Cllr Ken Sanderson and Mrs Beryl Sanderson.
The four winners, selected from hundreds of entries from primary schools across the borough, attended a prize-giving ceremony at Cannon Hall Museum where they were also treated to lunch together with their family members.
Cllr Sanderson said: "It was very difficult to judge the poster competition because the standard was so high. We would like to congratulate everyone who entered and say well done to the four overall winners."
Yorkshire in Bloom judges Melvyn Riley and Malcolm Sunderland attended the ceremony.
The four winnes were
* runner-up seven and under age group, Sara Nolan, Lacewood Primary (front row, middle),
* runner-up seven to 11 age group, Lucy Mae Beck, Darton Road Primary (front row, right),
* Mayor's Trophy, Jack Jenkins, Wilthorpe Junior,
* overall winner, Daisy Key, Burton Road Primary (front row, second right).
