PEOPLE who have lost the reading habit, lack confidence when it comes to reading, or simply want to build up their reading stamina are invited to take Barnsley libraries’ Six Book Challenge this summer.
Those who take up the Challenge will be asked to read six books over the summer months and people who succeed will receive a prize certificate and a free Quick Reads title.
The Six Book Challenge uses Quick Reads titles to help people get back into the reading habit. They are a series of books written by well-known authors such as Ruth Rendell, Maureen Lee and Andy McNab. The series includes Richard Branson’s life story, a book of short stories and even a title on how to stop smoking.
For further information on how to take the Challenge, call in at any library or contact Jill Craven, Reader Development Officer on 01226 762313 or email JillCraven@barnsley.gov.uk
