YORKSHIRE in Bloom judges return to Barnsley for another round of judging on Tuesday, 22 July, when they will meet the borough’s community groups.
The judges will meet Mayor of Barnsley, Cllr Ken Sanderson at the Town Hall for coffee at 9.30am. They will then have a walk through the town centre, starting at the Mall, with members of the Town Centre Management Team, Barnsley Civic Trust and the council’s cleansing team.
They will then meet the Safer Neighbourhood Team’s graffiti removal officers at Rowland Road to see a demonstration and visit the volunteers at Barnsley Hospice.
Lunch will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Cannon Hall, at 11.45pm where judges will have lunch with the Mayor and meet the winners of the Barnsley in Bloom children’s poster competition.
In the afternoon, they will visit Dodworth library, have a site visit of Keresforth Primary School, meet the Friends Group at Worsbrough Dale Park, members of Ardsley Residents Group and members of Kendray Community Group.
Judging will also take place this week on Thursday, 17 July at Tankersley Manor and Edmunds Arms, Worsbrough.
