Barnsley Mayor and Mayoress start the party atmosphere at Dearne Carnival
MAYOR and Mayoress of Barnsley, Cllr Ken Sanderson and Mrs Beryl Sanderson will officially open the Dearne Carnival on Saturday, 5 July at 11am.
The carnival will be held at the Miners Welfare Hall, in front of the Dearne Playhouse, Washington Road, Goldthorpe, from 10.30am to 4pm.
There will be plenty of entertainment on the day including a wild west show, The Hill Primary School band, a football tournament, children’s attractions and a balloon race.
The event has been organised by the Dearne Carnival Committee and the Dearne Community Partnership.
