A FEW places are still available to hear lawyer turned best-selling author Steve Smith speaking about his books at Barnsley Central Library on Thursday, 3 July at 5pm.
Yorkshire-born Steve is the author of titles such as “Boozers, Ballcocks and Bail” and “Junkies, Judges and Jail” and there will be the opportunity to buy his books and have them signed.
His books are filled with stories of his hilarious, tragic and bizarre experiences in and outside the criminal justice system.
Described by The Times as “Rotherham’s answer to Rumpole”, Steve is a much sought after and entertaining public speaker. His visit to Barnsley Central Library is the latest in a series of Author Visits being planned by Mel Dyke, local author and educational advisor, in conjunction with Jill Craven, Barnsley Libraries’ Reader Development Officer.
This series aims to raise the profile of books, libraries and reading by bringing local authors and celebrities to the Central Library.
