AN AWARENESS-raising and chipping event for dog owners will take place at Locke Parke, Barnsley, on Friday, 27 June between 10am and 2pm.
Barnsley Council’s Environmental Regulatory Unit will be near the car park entrance issuing advice, information sheets and free dog poo bags. You can also have your dog micro-chipped and registered with the Dogs Trust for free.
The event is taking place as part of National Poop Scoop Week, which runs 23 to 29 June, where the council and the Dogs Trust are urging all dog owners to be responsible and ‘Grab it, Bag it, Bin it’. Failing to pick up after your dog can result in an on-the-spot fine of £50 or even an appearance in court.
