BARNSLEY Council’s Adult and Family Learning service is offering free introductory courses in two popular subjects to allow new learners to sample the classes.
Introductory British Sign Language (BSL) will run for six weeks at Age Concern, Queen’s Road, Barnsley, from 5.30pm to 7pm, starting on Monday (12 May).
If that is not convenient, a taster event in BSL will be held at the Roundhouse Lifelong Learning Centre, Laithes Crescent, Athersley, from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, 21st, with a follow-up course after the spring bank holiday.
For those hoping to head for the sun this summer, Beginners’ Spanish will run for four weeks from 4pm to 6pm at Meadstead Children’s Centre, Meadstead Drive, Royston, starting on Monday, 12th
Extended programmes in both of these subjects will be available for those who wish to continue their studies.
For further information, or to book a place on any of these courses, please contact Keith Brock on 01226 775290, or by e-mail to keithbrock@barnsley.gov.uk
