Essential maintenance to Council website payment facilities

A number of essential activities on Barnsley Council’s ICT network continue to take place in readiness for the move to the new data centre.

Essential work for the move will occur on Sunday, 15 November, which is likely to result in all electronic payment systems on the council’s online web portfolio being unavailable from 9am until approximately 5pm. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The creation of brand new data centre facilities and office accommodation will provide a new base for Bull TCL, the council’s strategic ICT partner.

As a result of this major move, the council will have access to a state of the art IT infrastructure which will result in improved accessibility of systems, a reduction in the amount of time that systems are unavailable and o a reduction in the environmental impact of operating our IT systems.

Until the relocation is complete, it is inevitable that systems may temporarily be affected. However, we will make every effort keep this to a minimum and further communications will take place to keep you informed.
