JOIN a member of Barnsley Council’s Public Rights of Way Team on a free guided walk in Silkstone, on Saturday 21 November at 11.30am, meeting at the Ring ‘O’ Bells Public House.
This is the second of three guided walks in the Silkstone area on a different and slightly longer route to that featured in the current Open Door Magazine.
The walk is approximately three miles long and will start from Silkstone Village, heading up into Silkstone Fall Wood and using the many public footpaths in the area. Some of the footpaths are quite steep and there are several stiles so this walk is unsuitable for anyone with mobility difficulties.
Participants should ensure they have suitable clothing/footwear and refreshments, and under 16’s should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
A further walk around the Blackergreen/Kine Moor area of Silkstone will be taking place on Sunday, 29 November, meeting at the Ring ‘O’ Bells at 1pm.
For further information, please contact Damen Keddy 01226 787650.
Look out for more guided walks in different areas of Barnsley to be featured in future Open Door Magazine publications.
