Private sector property improvement works for Carlton village

IMPROVEMENT works are due to be undertaken over the next four months to private sector homes on Bramah Street, Carlton, Barnsley.

The scheme is a follow-up to the pilot scheme completed on Grays Road, Carlton earlier this year. The scheme aims to try to reduce heat loss through energy efficiency measures so that residents will enjoy significant benefits to their electric and gas bills. In addition the works will improve the appearance of the properties and help to continue the overall regeneration of housing within this area.
 
In total 12 properties will be improved in this next phase of works with Inspace Partnerships appointed to undertake the scheme on behalf of Barnsley Council.

Over £230,000 of funding has been secured for the scheme from the new Homes and Communities Agency through the Green Corridor initiative. This is a joint partnership between Barnsley, Doncaster and Wakefield to improve the area in terms of housing choice and quality of life.
