HUNSHELF PARISH COUNCIL

Hunshelf Parish Council is centred on the villages of Green Moor and Snowden Hill to the South-West of Barnsley.

Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month, except for August and December, in the Providence Room of the Green Moor Methodist Church. Contact the Clerk for more information.

Population – 298 voters

The Parish Council owns 10.5 acres of land in the Delf. This is a public open space. There is a playground, recently renovated with a “People’s Millions Grant”; two small plots of grazing land that are leased out; possibly the country’s smallest village green the Millennium Green; a garden and Pump House. The latter houses a well, more accurately a water supply, that was constructed from the bottom up rather than the normal from the top down. The Parish Council also leases as a public open space the old Isle of Skye Quarry
