COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND AT SHAFTON, BARNSLEY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has made the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley (Engine Lane, Shafton, Barnsley) (Advanced Learning Centre) Compulsory Purchase Order 2008 under Section 530 of the Education Act 1996.

It is about to submit this Order to the Secretary of State for Education and Skills for confirmation, and if confirmed, the Order will authorise the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of the construction of an Advanced Learning Centre at Engine Lane, Shafton, Barnsley.

A copy of the order and of the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at the following places:-

The Barnsley Connects Service Centre, Civic Hall, Eldon Street, Barnsley 
The Branch Library, Acorn Centre, High Street, Grimethorpe, Barnsley.

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing to the Secretary of State for Education and Skills, Mowden House, Staindrop Road, Darlington, Co. Durham before the 22nd February 2008 and should state the title of the Order, the grounds of objection and the objector’s address and interests in the land.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AND RIGHTS IN LAND

97,073 square metres comprising agricultural land adjacent Hazledene Farm situate and having frontage onto the west side of Engine Lane in the  district of Shafton

6,766 square metres comprising agricultural land situate and having frontage onto the south side of Collier Road in the district of Shafton.
