Notice of Penalty Charges for Parking Contraventions

NOTICE OF PENALTY CHARGES FOR PARKING CONTRAVENTIONS

Under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004 the Secretary of State for Transport has made an Order requiring the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council to set the level of Penalty Charges payable in respect of parking contraventions committed on all car carks and roads within the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough for which it is the enforcement authority. The Order introduces differential parking penalties which has two levels of charges payable.

The following Rates of Penalty Charges will be payable with effect from 31st March 2008:

 Parking Penalties at the Higher Rate:
£70 reduced to £35 if paid before the expiry of 14 days from the date of issue of the Penalty Charge Notice or increased to £105 if paid after the issue of a Charge Certificate.

Parking Penalties at the Lower Rate:
£50 reduced to £25 if paid before the expiry of 14 days from the date of issue of the Penalty Charge Notice or increased to £75 if paid after the issue of a Charge Certificate.
