THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BARNSLEY
(PERMISSIVE PUBLIC FOOTPATH ALONG THE RIVER DON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2007

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has authorised an extension of the above named Order for a further period of six months until 10th February 2009 the effect of which will close the permissive public footpath which runs along the River Don from Soughley Lane Wortley below the Stocksbridge By pass South to Wharncliffe Woods

REASON:   unstable river bank due to flood damage

NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for pedestrians affected by the Order is via Trans-Pennine Trail
