You may view planning applications via the website www.barnsley.gov.uk and navigate to the Weekly List of Planning Applications or at the public visitor centre at Barnsley Connects, The Civic, Eldon Street, Barnsley, S70 2JL,  The opening times are:-

Monday to Thursday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and 9.00 am to 4.30 pm Friday

Pay and Display car parking is available at County Way.

We will try to respond to you: 

By telephone: during office hours. Enquiries not capable of being dealt with immediately will be returned within 1 working day.

In writing: enquiries asking whether planning permission is required should be in writing. We will try to respond within 20 days of receipt or sooner if urgent.

We will also try to respond to other requests for advice within 20 days. This will, however, depend on the complexity of the matter and the need to carry out consultations in connection with the enquiry.

Householder Development Enquiry forms will be assessed within 10 days.

Correspondence, unless for the attention of a specific member of staff, should be addressed to the Assistant Director of Planning & Transportation.
