The Minerals Policies contained in the Local Development Framework aim to strike a balance between Society's need for minerals and the need to protect our environment. The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister Website contains Minerals Planning Guidance Notes should you require further information.

The Local Development Framework contains Policies against which minerals proposals will be assessed.

There are fees for minerals applications, which are determined by Central Government. The Council will tell you how much is payable. The amount varies according to the scale of the proposal. A fee calculator on the Planning Portal can work out the cost of any particular application.

Planning fees can be paid by cheque and credit/debit card

Waste Policies address the land use aspects of waste management. It includes all activities that produce waste and can range from major landfill sites to waste transfer stations.
