We also hold past Ordnance Survey plans which may highlight former industrial land uses which need to be considered when developing, occupying and maintaining land.
Eligibility
This service is available to Local Councils, Private Consultants (particularly those businesses involved in the regeneration of the area) and Statutory Undertakers such as Yorkshire Water and the Highways Agency.
Procedure
Any incidents of minewater pollution (which will be a characteristic orange in colour) affecting rivers, streams, land or other properties should be reported to this office so that we can inform the necessary authorities.
A request for a mineral report, which will include details of past industrial land uses, should be made by letter, fax or e-mail.

Charges/Fees
Mineral reports for private consultants incur a cost of £55 per hour. Mineral reports typically take 5 to 10 hours to complete.(Costs as at April 2008)
Methods of Payment Available
Customers will be invoiced for work carried out or alternatively a cheque (made out to Barnsley MBC) will be accepted.

Monday - Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm.
We are located within the Planning & Transportation Service at Barnsley Council on the 1st Floor of Westgate Plaza 1.
