The Central Research Team is located within Financial Services but provides research and statistical support to council departments, partners, businesses and members of the public.
It is part of the One Barnsley Research Network, which brings together public sector researchers across Barnsley and provides a resource for data and research.
Local Information System
The main resource for data and research is the Local Information System (LIS). There are area and topic profiles as well as a searchable database of research reports and datasets.
LIS feeds the South Yorkshire-wide Local Area Statistics Online Service (LASOS). This is worth visiting for South Yorkshire comparisons and for more advanced analysis tools.
