The Central Research Team is located within Financial Services but provides research and statistical support to council departments, partners, businesses and members of the public.
It is a key part of the One Barnsley Research Network, which brings together public sector researchers across Barnsley and provides a resource for data and research.
Key current work of the Central Research Team:
This consists of 3 reports dealing with Children & Young People, Older People and General Issues. It draws together a wide range of data on these topics and includes analysis of trends for the Borough and some ward analysis.
This includes analysis and mapping of Census data across Barnsley, profiles of the Borough and old and new wards, comparisons with similar areas as well as information for Barnsley's 52 neighbourhoods.
Working with Barnsley Research Network, the Central Research Team is developing a range of datasets for small areas. This will help in providing data for funding bids and planning resource allocation as well as monitoring the impact of programmes (as we have done for Kendray Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder).
The Central Research Team can provide data and analysis including mapping across a range of topics. For long-term or complex analysis/reports, there may be a charge.
