Members of a religious community whose principle occupation is prayer, contemplation, education, the relief of suffering, or any combination of those are disregarded for Council Tax purposes.Members of the community must though have no income or capital and be dependant on the community for their material needs.
How to claim a discount
To claim discount, you must contact the Council Tax Helpline on Barnsley 774774, or write to the Benefits & Taxation Division.
