Description
Members of a religious community whose principle occupation is prayer, contemplation, education, the relief of suffering, or any combination of those are disregarded for Council Tax purposes.
Members of the religious community must have no income or capital and be dependant on the community for their material needs.

To claim discount, you must contact the Council Tax Helpline, or write to the Benefits & Taxation Division.

Applicants must inform the Council as soon as possible if there are any changes to the information provided. This may affect the Council Tax charge and applicants will have to repay any discount that they are not entitled to.
