Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is the main provider of adult and community learning in Barnsley through its Adult and Family Learning Service.  Local community and neighbourhood based learning is offered in venues across the borough.  More learning opportunities are provided through Resource Centres, libraries and community groups. Learning opportunities are also offered in the work place, complementing work related learning made available by employers.

Adult and Family Learning welcomes learners from all sectors of the community. We offer a variety of courses, some of which are targeted at specific groups. Adult and Family Learning supports inclusive lifelong learning for all and we welcome adults with learning support needs or disabilities.
