IGI is the abbreviated form of International Genealogical Index. This is a transcription of numerous parish and other registers of birth, baptism and marriage compiled by the Genealogical Society of Utah, run by the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (The Mormons).

It is organised alphabetically by surname.

The department holds the 1992 edition for the whole of England and Ireland, and for the Scottish counties of : Argyll, Ayr, East Lothian and Renfrew.
