Further Information

Penistone branch library has disabled access and is a short walk away from the bus stop and railway station. It is a very busy and well-used library, serving the market town of Penistone and nearby villages. A thriving Reader's Group meets on alternate Mondays at 2.00pm, and a Baby and Toddler Pop-In Group meets on alternate Wednesdays at 10.00am. In addition to Tourist information, the library also holds information on the local cinemas and theatres. A Writer's Workshop meets every other week on Thursday evening during the Winter and Study Support sessions are held at the library on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Also available is the Dransfield Collection of local history material, which includes almanacs, parish magazines and graveyard inscriptions; and the Biltcliffe Collection of local photographs. Penistone Camera Club has a permanent display in the library and new additions to stock are also on display. A hearing loop is available.
