Mobile Library Service
Barnsley Library Service currently has 2 Mobile Library vehicles in operation serving areas of the Borough which are more than a mile from a static library and also serving a large number of schools and nurseries.
The vehicles have access for wheelchairs and operate to a specific timetable, visiting locations around Barnsley either weekly or fortnightly.
Each vehicle has a stock of approximately 3,000 items including:
- Books - fiction and non-fiction
- Children's books
- Large print and spoken word items
- A small selection of DVDs
The Mobile Library vehicles also have ICT equipment with access to the internet and Microsoft Office packages.
