Book sales are held at the Central Library 2 or 3 times per year in order to dispose of old stock which is no longer required. The sales include Fiction, Non-Fiction and Junior books in both hardback and paperback. There are also sales for non-book materials such as CD's and DVD's.
The latest Book Sale was held on 2nd and 3rd October 2008, but further sales will take place throughout the year. They are usually advertised in advance by poster and leaflets in the Central Library and by notices in the local press. You can also telephone the Central Library to find out when the next sale is to be held.
Various prices apply to items for sale. Payment can be made either by cash or by cheques made payable to BMBC
At the book sale customers are able to fill a carrier bag for £2.00. Non-book items are usually 50p for a single CD or DVD, but prices do vary.
